Quick answer
Under Club › Settings, in Stripe account, select Connect with Stripe and authorise your club’s account. When you disconnect it, payments already collected are kept and can be refunded.
For clubs to pay by card, your club’s Stripe account has to be connected to the competition. This guide explains how it is connected, how to check its status and what happens if you disconnect it. If your club is a Clybo’ customer, the account is managed in Clybo’ and this connection is not made here.
Before you start
- You need an organiser account for Competiciones Rítmica. If you do not have one yet, follow Create your Competiciones Rítmica organiser account.
- Have to hand access to your club’s Stripe account. You authorise the connection in Stripe.
- A Stripe account belongs to one club only. If it is already connected to another club, Clybo’ will not accept it.
- If your club uses Clybo’, do not connect anything here. Follow Set up online payments with Stripe.
Step by step
1. Open Club › Settings
In the sidebar, under the Club section, select Settings. The Collections screen opens, with the Stripe account block. This account is used for all your competitions. The same information appears in the side column of Payments › Settings, and the Complete in Collections link also leads to Collections.
2. Select Connect with Stripe
In Stripe account, select Connect with Stripe. The page takes you to Stripe to authorise your club’s account.
3. Return to Competiciones Rítmica
When you return from Stripe you will see Checking the connection…. When Stripe confirms the connection, “Stripe account connected.” appears, together with the Back to payments button.
If Stripe has not yet confirmed the connection, you will see “We still don’t know whether the connection was completed.”. Wait a moment and check the Stripe account block on Collections before connecting again.
4. Check the status
With the account connected, the block shows:
- the Active badge;
- the account, masked with its last four characters, for example
acct_••••followed by those characters; - Charges: Enabled, when Stripe already allows payments.
If Enabled does not appear, Stripe does not yet allow payments on the account. Under Card in Payments › Settings you will see the reason “Stripe does not allow charges yet”. Complete whatever Stripe asks for.
The Open Stripe button opens the Stripe dashboard in another tab.
5. Disconnect the account (only if you need to)
Select Disconnect. The confirmation Disconnect Stripe? opens with this text: “Competitions will stop offering card payments. Payments already made are kept and can be refunded.”. Confirm with Disconnect.
When you disconnect:
- competitions stop offering payment by card;
- card payments that a club has part-way through are cancelled in Stripe. If one cannot be cancelled at that moment, it is cancelled at the next automatic review. The payment remains pending, but while the account is disconnected, the card is not offered;
- payments already collected and earlier payments do not change, and their refunds come out of the same account that collected them, even if you connect another one later.
If something goes wrong
- “You cancelled the connection with Stripe. You can try again whenever you like.”: you closed the Stripe window without authorising. Select Connect with Stripe again whenever you like.
- “Stripe did not complete the connection. Please try again.”: Stripe did not confirm the authorisation. Connect the account again.
- “The Stripe code is missing on return. Connect the account again.”: the return from Stripe was incomplete. Repeat the connection from Club › Settings.
- “This Stripe account already belongs to another club. Connect an account owned by this club.”: a Stripe account can belong to only one club. Connect your club’s own Stripe account.
- Card appears disabled under Payments › Settings with one of these reasons: “Stripe is not active for the club”, “Stripe account missing” or “Stripe does not allow charges yet”. Participating clubs do not see the Card option. After Disconnect, the Stripe account block shows “Stripe is not active for the club” next to Connect with Stripe.
If your club is a Clybo’ customer
In the Stripe account block you do not see the connection buttons. The text Change in Clybo’ appears, because the account is managed in Clybo’. To change it, follow Set up online payments with Stripe.
Card payments go directly to your club’s Stripe account. Clybo’ takes no commission and does not handle the money.
Next step
- Set up how entries are paid: the method, timing and deadline for payments.
- Confirm the competition’s transfers and payments: how to review proofs and pending charges.
