Practical guide

Review, correct and publish the results

Read the ranking, set the tie-break, correct scores, resolve scoring desk conflicts, publish a version and download the report as a PDF.

Quick answer

In Results in the organiser panel you review each division’s ranking, correct scores and resolve the scoring desk’s conflicts. Publishing creates a numbered version that cannot be withdrawn.

This guide is for the competition organiser. It explains how to read the Results section, how to choose the tie-break, how to correct a score, how to resolve the conflicts that come from the scoring desk, how to publish a version and how to download the report as a PDF.

Before you start

  • The Results section is in the competition panel bar, after Rotation. You can only score and publish results when the competition is scheduled or finished. In any other state, the screen does not allow it.
  • Scores mainly come from the scoring desk in the venue. How they are entered there is explained in Record the scores at the venue with the notes desk. From the panel you can also score a missing mark or correct one that already exists.
  • Only approved entries are scored. If an entry is not approved, it cannot receive scores. See Review and approve the competition’s registrations.

Step by step

1. Open Results and read the header

Tap Results. The subtitle in the header shows the state of the competition:

  • Provisional · N of M scores, while no version has been published.
  • Published · vN · date, when a version is published and there are no pending changes.
  • Published · vN · unpublished changes, when a score has changed since the last version.
  • No scores yet, when the competition has none yet.

The Search gymnast, club or bib field filters the table of the division you are viewing.

2. Choose the division and the view

The Division selector shows each division with its state: Ready, N scores missing (or N score missing), On the floor or Pending.

Below are the view chips:

  • The first brings together all the apparatus in the division, with their names joined by « + », for example Rope + Ball. It is the overall view: it adds up the scores from every apparatus.
  • Each exercise has its own chip, so you can see its ranking on its own.

The N of M complete counter shows how many entries have all their scores. An entry with pending scores shows Pending in the empty cells and — in the place and total columns.

The table has the columns Place, Bib, Gymnast, one column for each exercise in the view and Total. In duos, trios and groups, the name of the entry appears, with the club beneath. A no-show appears as No show and counts as 0.

When two rows are level on the total, the row above shows, for example, Tied on 37,500 · wins on E 13,700 and the row below Tied on 37,500 · E 13,400. If the tie is not decided by any criterion, the rows that share a place show Tied on 37,500 · shared place.

3. Choose the tie-break

In the Tie-break side card you choose the competition’s criterion. Choosing an option saves it and Tie-break saved appears. There are two options:

  • FIG criteria (Higher E, then A, then D): on the same total, the row with the higher E wins. If the tie remains, the higher A wins and then the higher D. When a gymnast competes on several apparatus, the E, A and D of all of them are added, as shown by Several apparatus: the E, A and D of all of them are added. Penalties do not count in the tie-break, because they are already deducted from the total.
  • No tie-break (Shared place): tied rows share a place and are not separated by E, A or D.

The criterion applies to the whole competition, not to each division. In the junior category, the FIG rule requires No tie-break. If your competition mixes juniors with other categories, you cannot apply a different criterion to juniors from the rest.

If results are already published, changing the criterion shows The published results will not change until you publish again. The change does not alter the published version until you publish again.

The line Decimals: 3 is for information only: scores have three decimals and that setting cannot be changed here.

4. Correct or score a mark

Tap a row to open the breakdown for each exercise, with DB, DA, D, A, E, Pen. and the score. If the exercise already has a score, the button is Correct. If it has none, the button is Score.

A window opens called Correct a score or Score a gymnast, depending on the case. You fill in DB, DA, A, E and the three penalties: Pen. time, Pen. line and Pen. responsible judge. D, Total pen. and Final score are calculated automatically. The limits are:

  • DB and DA, from 0 to 30.
  • A and E, from 0 to 10.
  • The penalties, from 0 to 10.
  • Up to 3 decimals, with a comma or a point.

To mark a no-show, change Scored to No show. The screen asks you to confirm with Confirm no-show. A no-show counts as 0 in the division total.

The Reason field is required when you Correct a score that already exists: its hint says “Required · 3 to 500 characters”. When you Score a new mark it is optional (“Optional · 3 to 500 characters”); if you enter something, it must be between 3 and 500 characters. To save, tap Save correction or Save score.

Below, the Revision history lists each revision with its number, who made it, when, its origin (Scoring desk, Panel or Accepted conflict) and the reason.

If someone else changed the score while you were editing it, the screen shows The score changed while you were editing it. The current version has been reloaded. Check the reloaded version before saving again.

5. Resolve the scoring desk’s conflicts

When the scoring desk sends a score that cannot be applied without a decision, the header shows a band such as N scores from the desk were not applied · Review. Tapping it opens the Conflicts panel.

Each conflict shows its reason, which can be:

  • Corrected in the panel afterwards.
  • The desk moved to another device.
  • Results already published.
  • Entry cannot be scored.

The card compares the Current score, with its revision, who entered it and when, with the From the desk score, with the time it was scored and the device that sent it.

You have two actions:

  • Use the desk score: the desk’s score becomes the current one, as a new revision with the origin Accepted conflict.
  • Keep the current score: the score does not change and the conflict is dismissed.

Both actions are recorded. While a conflict is pending, its division cannot be published: the card shows this with Blocks publishing this division.

6. Publish a version

Tap Publish results. The window lists the divisions, each with a tick box and its state:

  • New: it is complete and has never been published.
  • Changed: it is complete and has changes since the last version that includes it.
  • Published · no changes: it has no changes and cannot be ticked.
  • N scores missing or N conflicts: it cannot be published yet.

By default, the New and Changed divisions are ticked. Only complete divisions with no pending conflicts are published. The footer says what will happen: Version N will be published on the competition website and clubs will be notified by email. To confirm, tap Publish vN.

When you publish:

  • A numbered version is created. A published version cannot be withdrawn. If something needs correcting, a new version is published.
  • The public page shows the latest version of each division, with its date and number.
  • An email is sent to clubs with approved entries in the published divisions. The email contains no scores or gymnasts’ names: only the competition, the divisions and two links, to the results page and to the club area.
  • Gymnasts’ names appear on the public page only if you switch on Names in the running order in the call for entries. Otherwise the page shows only bibs and clubs. See Create and publish the competition call.

Two notices may appear:

  • The results changed since you reviewed them. Reopen “Publish results” to review them again. This happens if the ranking changed after you opened the window. Close it, reopen it and check the divisions.
  • You have published results too many times in the last hour. Wait a moment and try again. Each competition allows up to 10 publications per hour.

7. Download the report as a PDF

Tap Report. The menu has two blocks:

Current status (provisional), with the scores as they stand now:

  • This division: the division you are viewing. It is disabled if no division is selected.
  • Whole competition: all divisions with approved entries.

These two reports carry the Provisional watermark, including in divisions that already have a published version.

Published versions, one entry for each version:

  • Version N · date: the report of that version, with the rows as they were published, even if a score has been corrected since. It does not carry the Provisional watermark, and its heading shows the version number and publication date.
  • This division · version N: appears if the division you are viewing is in a published version, and uses the most recent version that includes it.

If there are no versions yet, the block says No published versions yet.

The PDF downloads when it is ready. It includes the ranking of each division, the tie-break applied and the signature lines for Jury president and Organiser.

Limits:

  • A report can hold up to 2,000 exercises. If the competition exceeds that number, download the report division by division.
  • You can download up to 10 reports per minute.

If something goes wrong
